Our beginner surf course is designed for those who want to start surfing and build a solid foundation, as well as for those who have tried learning on their own and lack proper basics. At our surf school in southern Fuerteventura, we teach most lessons at La Pared beach, but we also hold classes in Costa Calma (Sotavento or Esquinzo) and Morro Jable, selecting each day the beach with the best conditions.
Small groups of up to 8 students, certified instructors and lifeguards, and all equipment included. No previous experience is needed — just the desire to enjoy the ocean.

The Best Beaches for Beginners
Surf Lessons in La Pared, Costa Calma and Morro Jable
Every day we choose the beach that offers the best conditions depending on the wind, tides, and your level. Our lessons are mainly held at three beaches in southern Fuerteventura:
La Pared is our regular beach. Its north-facing orientation guarantees waves all year round, and its sandy bottom makes it an ideal spot for beginners, intermediate, and advanced surfers alike, with consistent waves and a wide whitewater area that makes practicing both fun and safe.
Costa Calma (Sotavento or Esquinzo) generally offers gentler wave conditions. It is the perfect alternative on days when La Pared has too much swell or wind.
Morro Jable, located in the southern area near the Morro Jable lighthouse, is a sandy beach with great learning potential thanks to its long waves, which help improve your surfing. It is a perfect and accessible alternative, especially recommended for first-time surf experiences.
Your First Surf Lesson Step by Step
Step 1
Meeting at the beach parking area
We start by handing out personally fitted equipment, then we head to the beach, where we choose the best spot according to the sandbanks. After that, we explain the conditions and how we will organize the course. We also do a warm-up and explain the basic fundamentals of safety and how to read the conditions. It is very important to go step by step in order to learn every detail about positioning on the board, paddling technique, and the basic exercise of connecting with the board and the ocean.
Step 2
First Waves in the Whitewater
We begin in a shallow area where you will learn the basic skills in the whitewater. In this first stage, you will connect with the board, understanding how it works and how to connect with the ocean, while learning to choose the waves with the most potential. During our lessons, you will practice the take-off on whitewater waves, with the instructor by your side correcting your posture and balance in real time.

Learn Safely
Certified Surf Instructors and Lifeguards
Your instructors are Morgan and Emilio. Both are certified surf instructors and qualified lifeguards with first aid training. Together, they have more than 30 years of experience in the nautical and water sports industry in Fuerteventura.
Their teaching method is direct and highly technical, providing clear explanations during the group theory sessions before entering the water, as well as continuous feedback to correct mistakes and help you improve on the beach. We also provide constant guidance in the water and personalized attention thanks to our small group sizes. The goal is not only for you to stand up on the board, but also to understand the fundamental principles of surfing so that nothing is left to chance, making each wave better than the last.
Lessons are available in Spanish, English, French, and German.

We are not limited to a single beach — we choose between La Pared, Costa Calma (Sotavento or Esquinzo), and Morro Jable depending on the day’s conditions and your level.

Optionally, we can photograph your lesson so you can review your technique and keep the memories. Please request this in advance before the lesson.

Each session lasts approximately 3 hours in total, from the moment we arrive at the beach until we return. It always includes group theory, warm-up exercises, and personalized feedback, plus around 2 hours of water practice. The time spent in the water may vary depending on the ocean conditions and your physical condition.

No previous experience is required. It is recommended that you feel comfortable in the water, but the lessons take place in shallow areas and are always supervised by certified instructors and lifeguards.
